One hour of risk-free art tutoring

Usually, to get advice from a comic industry professional, you’d need to attend a comic-con, and end up shelling out upwards of $400 to get maybe ten minutes of time with them in a crowded hall full of distractions. I’m offering an hour of one-on-one time for $50, and will give you your money back if you aren’t satisfied with the instruction.

Sounds pretty win/win, right?

I’m Steven Sanders, and I’ve been working full-time in the comics, advertising, and concept art fields for over a decade. I’ve done a lot of work for Marvel, Image and other companies which may or may not be impressive. There’s a list of my Marvel work up here, and I have some other work up here.

Last year I started mentoring students at the Kansas City Art Institute, and tutoring a friend who asked for some help with their art. It was a really enjoyable experience that provided them with help that went beyond what they could get from their professors or peers, and I’m going to start offering it to the general public on a limited basis.

I can help you with all aspects of traditional and digital drawing and painting, as well as fun ways to mix traditional and digital methods. I can help you with comic book process and layout, as well as how to improve your designs, whether they are mechanical, biological or landscape/environment types. I can provide advice on how to get work in the comic and illustration industry, (and keep it coming).

If you’re local, (Kansas City area) we can work together in person at your residence, or at a location like a coffeehouse or library. We can also work together via Skype, Google Hangouts, or Facetime.

I’m offering gift cards (digitally, as a PDF) for these sessions. You can give these to people who would enjoy some quality tutoring, or save them for when you could use some help, or use them now. However you use them, there’s no expiration date.

The PDFs are watermarked so I know when someone has used their bought time. This adds upwards of a minute to the time before you're able to access the PDF card, in case you end up wondering what the delay is about.

If you have any questions or if I can help with anything, feel free to email me at stevensanders@gmail.com.

Thanks very much and take care!
